FAQs

What is Beith Hive?

Beith Hive is a Care Inspectorate registered service (CS2023000311)  and a registered social enterprise (Company Number: SC763709), established by Beith Trust in 2022 to provide our community with high-quality out-of-school childcare for primary school-aged children.

Based at Beith Primary School, we welcome pupils from primary schools across the Garnock Valley. Our clubs are run by qualified staff, all registered with the Scottish Social Services Council, ensuring children receive safe, professional, and nurturing care.

Where and when does Beith HIve operate?

Beith Hive runs two clubs at Beith Primary School, our Breakfast Club from 7:30am – 9am and our after-school club from 3pm – 6pm. Both of these clubs provide creative activities, healthy snack options, and a safe, welcoming space for children to unwind before and after school time.

What is the Beith HIve Shuttle?

Beith Hive Shuttle Service is part of the Out of School Care we provide for children in the Garnock Valley.

PVG-registered staff drive our 9-seater electric vehicle between local primary schools to make it easier for children to attend Beith Hive.

  • Morning: Children booked into Breakfast Club at Beith Hive are taken directly to their school.

  • Afternoon: Children are collected from their school and brought straight to Beith Hive for Afterschool Care.

For families in rural communities, transport can be a real barrier to accessing childcare. Our shuttle helps bridge that gap, making it safe, reliable, and easy for children to get to and from our clubs.

What activities do you provide for the children?

We provide a range of fun, creative activities for our attendees. These can range from painting, drawing, clay modelling, card games, tag, outdoor play, music, dance, and so much more! We aim to ensure that every child’s individual needs and interests are nourished and engaged whilst they are at the Beith Hive.

How do I register my children with Beith Hive?

Registering for Beith Hive couldn’t be simpler – just visit our registration page and complete the online form.

Please provide as much detail as possible, including any allergies, medical information, or other important notes. Once your form is complete, we’ll confirm your registration and your login and password for our booking system.

From there, you can choose the days and which club(s) you’d like your child to attend.
If your child will be using our Shuttle Service, please select the club named:

“St Bridget, Gateside & Garnock Community Primary – Breakfast & Afterschool Club”

What food does Beith Hive provide for children?

Healthy eating is a core practice and principle of Beith Hive. At our breakfast club we offer a selection of cereal, toast, bagels, pancakes, fresh fruit, water, milk, and fresh orange and apple juice. At our after-school club we provide toast, bagels, cereal, jelly, fruit, and other small snacks. If they wish to do so, your children are more than welcome to bring their own packed lunch or snack box with food from home.

More information on this can be found in our lunchbox policy form.

Does Beith Hive operate over the school holidays?

The Beith Hive currently operates during term time only.

During the Easter and Summer holidays, our parent charity, Beith Trust, runs school holiday activity camps at Beith Astro.  These camps offer many of the same activities your child enjoys at Beith Hive – including free play, creativity, nature play and social opportunities in a safe and fun environment.  for more information about holiday provision and how to book, contact us at hello@beithhive.co.uk.
